Yoruba youths have kicked against the inauguration of a Shariah Court in Oyo State.
A circular announcing the inauguration went viral on X and the youths made it clear that they do not want Shariah Court, which is quite common in Northern Nigeria, to be inaugurated in the South West region of Nigeria.
A netizen, Harry, wrote:
“Shey I drink abi my eyes dey pain me?”Sharia Court in Oyo? Wondafuuu”.
Some other netizens supported him and wondered why such a thing would be brought to Oyo State.
Some Muslims, however, disagreed with them and explained that their fears were unfounded because Sharia law does not apply to non-Muslims.

“Why are you disturbed? Sharia law doesn’t apply to non-muslims. It’s a jurisdiction for muslims. Arent there a lot of Muslims in Oyo? Why do you guys feel provoked at anything? It’s gotten so bad honestly.”

Deborah got killed and her killers are still walking free. And Muslim lawyers supported it all. Sharia law doesn’t apply to non-Muslims. Lol.
