A Nigerian who was allegedly beating his wife in broad daylight in Chander Vihar area of Delhi, India got instant retribution as members of the public descended on him.
The incident happened on Monday, December 2, 2024, after the man reportedly thrashed his wife so brutally that the woman fell unconscious on the spot.
A video showing the woman lying in the street of the national capital has surfaced on social media.
The Nigerian man has been arrested and the police have initiated an investigation in connection with the matter.
There are reports that the husband assaulted the woman under the influence of alcohol due to which the woman fell unconscious on the street.
The video of the incident is making the rounds on social media and it can be seen in the video that a massive crowd has gathered at the crime scene with some chasing the accused husband.
The mob then started hurling stones at the accused husband and after a long struggle, they manage to catch him.
They thrashed the accused and informed the police about the incident. The police then rescued the accused from the crowd and arrested him.
The mob, however, started beating the Nigerian man even after the police made him sit in the police vehicle. They attacked the police vehicle and continued beating the accused.
The reason behind the assault is not clear yet and the police is interrogating the accused.
