Sarah Jakes Roberts, the daughter of the American pastor and motivational speaker, Bishop T.D. Jakes has assured that her father is recovering fast after he suffered a medical emergency during a sermon on Sunday, November 24.
Bishop Jakes was speaking at the Dallas-based The Potter’s House Church when he lowered his microphone and started shaking in his seat before people around him rushed to his aid.
In a statement, the church said Jakes “experienced a slight health incident and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour-long message.”
“Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals,” the church said. “The entire Potter’s House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community.”
Sarah Jakes Roberts later shared an update about her father’s health through an Instagram video.
She was accompanied by her husband Toure Roberts in the clip as she started by saying: “Hey family. I know today’s been an interesting day for us. But we didn’t want to lay down without giving you all an update about how everything is going with Bishop.”
Sarah thanked everyone for their prayers and support when the news of her father’s medical emergency broke out.
“Yeah we felt those prayers. Obviously, today could have been a tragic day. But it wasn’t by the mercy of God, by the grace of God. Bishop is doing well. He’s recovering well. He’s under medical care. He’s strong. We’re trying to get him to sit down. He’s the strong Bishop that we know.”
