Married Nigerian man, Abimbola, held in UK for alleged improper interactions with a minor (Video)
A 43-year-old Nigerian man, Abimbola David, has been taken into custody by London police after he was accused of having inappropriate communication with a minor.
A Non-governmental organisation committed to keeping children safe from s3xual predators, Saving our Children’s Futures, said Abimbola, who is married with two children and on a student visa, was interacting with a 14-year-old girl online and making inappropriate requests from her.
He met the girl on a dating app and believed his relationship with her was going on smoothly until she reported him to the authorities with evidence.
He was then traced to his residence, which he shared with his wife, kids and brother.
He was interrogated on camera before he was arrested.
Abimbola claimed he was unaware of the girl’s age, but he believed that asking her for her picture would reveal her age. He said he was aware that some girls lied about their ages on the dating app, even though the app forbids anyone younger than 18 from signing up.
Abimbola said he was chatting with the girl for fun, as he was bored, and had no intention of taking things further.
Abimbola who said he arrived in the UK only last year, claimed to be a Christian and that he planned to tell the girl to stay away from sex until marriage.
