Okada rider admits to r@ping female passenger, says he thought she wanted it
The Oyo State Police Command has detained an Okada rider accused of r@ping a female passenger.
The suspect, who admitted to the crime, justified his actions by stating that he “felt she needed him for the night.”
The incident occurred when the female passenger, reportedly in her twenties, requested a ride from the suspect, whose identity is yet to be publicly disclosed.
According to police reports, the suspect took advantage of the woman after picking her up in the late evening hours.
SP Adewale Osifeso, the Police Public Relations Officer for Oyo State, addressed journalists regarding the case.
The authorities have assured the public that the suspect will face appropriate legal action.
They reiterated the commitment to preventing such incidents and ensuring safer transportation options for commuters, especially late at night.
The suspect is currently in custody and is expected to be arraigned soon.
