Trump talks about the illegals, but his biggest ally, Elon Musk once worked illegally in this country’ Joe Biden
U.S. President, Joe Biden has criticized former president Donald Trump and his ally Elon Musk, accusing them of hypocrisy regarding immigration issues.
Biden’s remarks follow a report alleging that Musk, who immigrated from South Africa, once worked illegally in the United States.
He said Trump’s ‘Great Ally’, the world’s wealthiest man, Elon Musk entered America with a student visa but was not in school. He said instead of attending school, he was working illegally in the country.
During a Saturday campaign event in Pittsburgh, Biden commented, “The wealthiest man in the world became an illegal worker here. He was supposed to be in school on a student visa, but he wasn’t. And he’s talking about all these illegals coming our way?”
The Washington Post’s report claims that Musk arrived in California in 1995 for a Stanford graduate program but never enrolled, instead working on his startup, Zip2.
Citing company documents and emails, the report suggests that investors pushed Musk to obtain a work visa to avoid potential deportation.
In response, Musk dismissed Biden’s comments as “lies,” asserting in a post on X that he was “allowed to work in the U.S.”
Musk is currently one of the top financial supporters of the Republican party and has reportedly contributed over $70 million to GOP candidates this election season.
Musk’s critics have pointed to his past visa issues as contradictory to his recent remarks on immigration policy.
