The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has strongly condemned the actions of Hon. Alex Ikwechegh, the House of Representatives member representing Aba North and South Federal Constituency, following a video that surfaced showing him allegedly assaulting a Bolt driver.

In the video, Ikwechegh reportedly boasted he could ensure the driver “disappeared” without a trace.

APGA’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, issued a statement on Monday denouncing Ikwechegh’s conduct.

“Our party, APGA, is rooted in the principles of human rights and respect for all individuals. This alleged behaviour by Hon. Ikwechegh goes against our core values,” Opara stated.

He emphasized that APGA is committed to upholding the dignity of all citizens, regardless of social class, creed, or ethnicity.

Opara also noted that the party would launch an investigation through a disciplinary committee and, should Ikwechegh be found guilty, he would face appropriate sanctions as outlined in the APGA constitution.

Reaffirming APGA’s commitment to high standards, Opara urged all party members and elected officials to uphold values of decorum, civility, and integrity in their public and private interactions, stressing that any verified misconduct would not be tolerated.
