The secondary school student, Sandra Usman, 15, who recently stabbed her mate to de@th has been remanded by a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Akure.
It would be recalled that Usman got into a scuffle with a male student, Habib Salau, 17, and subsequently st@bbed him to de@th.
The incident occurred outside their school, Akoko Anglican Grammar School, Arigidi Akoko.
Chief Magistrate Olateju Odenusi-Fadeyi ordered Sandra’s remand at the Ondo State Juvenile Home while awaiting advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP). The court did not take her plea.
Sandra faces charges of conspiracy and murder. According to Police Prosecutor Josephine Awana, on October 3, Sandra and another person, still at large, allegedly conspired to commit murder.
Awana claimed Sandra stabbed Salau during a fight after accusing him of confronting her on the way home.
The fight escalated when someone handed Sandra a knife and ordered her to stab Salau.
The prosecution noted that the charges violate Sections 124 and 319(1) of the Ondo State Criminal Code.
The case has been adjourned till February 2, 2025, for mention.
