Man discredits Dep. Senate Leader’s 350 laptop donation claim, says laptops were retrieved from them after photo ops

 

The Deputy Senate Leader, Senator Oyelola Ashiru has been accused of a fraudulent empowerment scheme in Kwara State.

One of the young people who was filmed standing by cartons of laptops in a video from his empowerment programme claimed that the laptops were collected from them after the ceremony.

Ashiru had released photos and a statement that he held a human capital development drive in which he distributed 350 Laptops to Youths in Kwara South Senatorial district.

The communication by the senator’s team said the laptops distribution marked the end of 4-week long digital training and ICT empowerment program facilitated by Senator Oyelola Ashiru in collaboration with One Innovation Hub Offa (ONEIH) and National Productivity Centre.

The beneficiaries were reportedly drawn from Ifelodun, Offa, Oyun, Irepodun, Isin, Oke-ero and Ekiti local government areas of Kwara State.

They reportedly participated in Digital literacy/STEM, PCB Basic, Multimedia Development and Web development training at One Innovation Hub Offa (ONEIH), Offa.

However, a young man has taken to social media to discredit the scheme.]

He showed himself with other beneficiaries with cartons of laptops placed in front of them.

He claimed that the laptop was collected from them as soon as the cameramen and journalists departed.
