A middle-aged man, simply identified as Bidemi, who was rescued from a deep canal and rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), has d!ed.
He was reportedly being chased by policemen who accused him of being a fraudster when he fell into the canal.
Residents of the area rescued him from the water of the canal and took him to the hospital.
In an update shared this morning, the X user who reported the incident said the man d!ed in the early hours of today October 18.
The same lady had last night reported that the victim was her friend’s husband.
She posted a gory video showing the moment the man’s unconscious body was pulled out from the canal by residents of the area and staff of the Lagos State Fire Service.
According to the lady, the officers who weren’t in uniforms, profiled the victim as a Yahoo boy because of his tattoo and he decided to run after the officers corked their guns. He was reportedly chased until he fell into the canal.
She further said eyewitnesses claim the officers allegedly went away with the victim’s money and shoes.
