A 37-year-old mother of three, Natalie Shotter, has died after being raped repeatedly by a man on a park bench in the United Kingdom.
The court heard that she was allegedly attacked by 35-year-old Mohamed Iidow after a night out.
She was later found dead by a passer-by in Southall Park, London, on July 17, 2021.
Prosecutor Alison Morgan KC stated that Natalie was a vulnerable woman enjoying herself that night but was then exploited by the defendant.
Morgan added that Natalie likely was not conscious during the assault and did not consent to the act, emphasizing that it was the repeated rape that caused her death.
CCTV footage, although grainy, reportedly shows Iidow engaging in non-consensual acts of oral penetration.
The footage further supports the prosecution’s argument that the assault led to Natalie’s tragic death.
Speaking after her death, Natalie’s family described her as a wonderful and loving person who was adored by her children.
Iidow denies the charges, and the trial is ongoing as of October 4, 2024.
