A 63-year-old husband is reported to have brutally killed his wife, 53, before taking his own life in a horrific murder-suicide in the United Kingdom.

The chilling details emerged during an inquest held in London on Thursday, September 26, 2024.

Witnesses recounted that the husband strangled, stabbed, and bludgeoned his wife with a hammer in their home.

The lifeless bodies of Richard Parks, 63, and his wife Suratchanee ‘Lat’ Parks, 53, were found inside their home in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, United Kingdom.

Lat reportedly put up a fight. Despite her attempts to fight back, she was ultimately overpowered.

Following the heinous act, the husband reportedly took his own life, leaving behind a scene of devastation and grief.

During the inquest, it emerged that the pair had met in Thailand where Lat already had a son and later moved to the UK.

The couple appeared happy until recenltly when Parks reportedly became anxious after receiving a large tax bill from HMRC.

The strain and stress are believed to have contributed to worsening his mental health and forced him to delay their move to Thailand.

Loved ones were concerned they had not heard from the couple and went over to their three-storey building home on February 23 to check on them.

Neighbours reported hearing “hysterical” screams from the loved ones who sighted the bodies of Parks and Lat.

Authorities have described the event as one of the most disturbing cases they have encountered.

Community members have expressed their shock and sorrow, with many calling for increased awareness and resources for mental health and domestic violence prevention.

This heart-breaking incident raises urgent questions about the safety and well-being of individuals in domestic situations, and the importance of intervention before such tragedies occur.
