The Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Patrick Aghamba, and his wife have been released by their abductors.
It would be recalled that the couple was abducted on Friday, August 16, while travelling for the wedding of the daughter of Charles Soludo, governor of Anambra, which was scheduled for Saturday in Abuja.
The commissioner’s aide who was in the vehicle with him, Kpajie Offia, was reportedly k!lled during the attack.
The Chief press secretary to Governor Soludo, Chris Aburime, in a statement on Sunday said the commissioner and his wife were released on Saturday night, August 17.
Aburime said the state government was able to get them out of the hands of kidnappers in “within 24 hours”.
