‘I didn’t leave my hubby because of house rent’- Wife of viral ‘korope’ driver speaks

Tina Anozie, the wife of Segun Anozie, the minibus (korope) driver who recently went viral has said that she did not leave her husband because he was broke and could not pay their rent.

Recall that Segun Anozie became an internet sensation after a content maker, Asherkine showered him with over N2 million worth of household goods and valuables. You can read the earlier story here.

Segun correctly remembered the shoe size of his wife when he was asked by the content creator in order to buy a pair of shoes for her.

He correctly remembered the school fees of his children.

When given a blank cheque to ask for anything, he asked for rice for his family. When Asherkine insisted he should ask for something else, he asked for a Television for his family.

Many netizens saw him as a complete family man who was slaving away to give his family a better life.

Some netizens later dug into the background of the wife and saw that she was introducing herself as a single mother on Facebook.

When Segun Anozie was asked about this, he admitted his marriage had been through rough patches because he was not able to provide for all the needs of his family.

He said he was unable to pay the rent of the house they were living in and they were kicked out, leading the wife to rent an apartment with the money she raised from friends.

Many netizens have consequently been dragging Tina who they believe deserted her marriage to Segun Anozie because he fell on bad times, while the man was doing his best to provide what he could.

She is now defending herself, insisting that she did not desert her marriage because of rent.

She wrote on her Facebook page:

“Why will anyone married for over 10 years leave her marriage because of 1 year rent?

Why will any woman leave a hardworking man because of financial setbacks?

Why will you choose to believe everything on social media?

Guess the interviewers are just trying to create content but as for Muah, I will keep soaring because I am an eagle. I have no fears  people that know me, knows my story
