US-based Nigerian shows photos of sleeping ‘box’ where many newly relocated pay to sleep for 8 hours

A US-based Nigerian man who goes by the moniker, The Loaded Man on Facebook, has revealed how tough it is for newly arrived immigrants to find their feet in New York,  United States of America because of the expensive accommodation.

He recalled that when he newly arrived in the US many years ago, he had to pay $80 to sleep in a “pod-like box” for 8 hours per day.

The Loaded Man said the money paid is strictly for 8 hours after which the renter must vacate the space for someone else who has paid for the space.

The person then roams around without a home for the rest of the day.

The Loaded Man shared photos of the sleeping boxes. Many of the boxes are built into a room and closed with wooden doors.

Each is just large enough to take in a body. A small mattress is laid in it and nothing else.

There is no fan or any other facility to make the place conducive for the renter.
