Nigerian music legend and juju Maestro, King Sunny Ade (KSA), has addressed the longstanding rumours of a romantic relationship between him and the late iconic singer Onyeka Onwenu (MON).
King Sunny Ade seized the opportunity of his paying a condolence visit to Onwenu’s family, to revisit the speculations that have surrounded their relationship for years.
The musician, popularly called KSA, explained that the rumors were part of a strategic move to promote their hit song, “Wait for Me.”
KSA said it was all a gimmick to promote their song, ‘Wait for Me.’
He said before the collaboration, there was already the speculation that she was his girlfriend.
“Me and her have never said yes or no,”
KSA described Onwenu as an extraordinary woman who offered invaluable advice and support throughout their professional relationship.
He recalled that she would often asked him if she could offer some advice and once he said it was okay, she would give him excellent advice.
Their collaboration, ‘Wait for Me’ was a huge hit that ruled the airwaves for years.
