A plane carrying 62 people crashed into a residential area in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and there was no survivor.

The crash was captured on camera by an onlooker on the ground. The video shows the aircraft falling at a speed towards the ground.

Brazilian TV station GloboNews aired another video showing a large area on fire and smoke appearing to billow from a fuselage after the plane crashed in the municipality of Vinhedo.

The airline, Voepass, announced that there were 58 passengers and 4 crew members on board the flight which was on its way from Cascavel in the state of Parana to Guarulhos in Sao Paulo state.

The airline did not address the cause of the crash.

The city hall in Valhinos, a municipality close to Vinhedo, also announced that there were no survivors.

Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva who was speaking at an event in the south of the country also disclosed that there were no survivors. He did not disclose his source.

He asked the crowd he was addressing to stand and observe a minute of silence for those involved in the crash.
