Ondo bizwoman k!lled five days after celebrating her birthday

An Akure, Ondo-based businesswoman, Debbi Olakunbi Adene, 54, has allegedly been butchered in her residence by some assailants only five days after she threw a big bash to celebrate her birthday.

Adene, a popular caterer and CEO of Country Kitchen and Event, was found to have been murd3red on her bed on Sunday, July 28, 2024.

The State-owned newspaper, The Hope Metro, reported that the businesswoman was full of life the previous day, with no one suspecting that she would be gone by the next day.

Five days earlier, she invited family and friends to a bash commemorating her 54th birthday.

A source said the late mother of two entertained visitors in her residence and served assorted wine and drinks.

She was to later post pictures from the event on her social media handles, with family and friends rejoicing with her and sending her felicitations.

Her husband, Dele Adene, described the demise of his wife as a rude shock.

He said he was told his wife was found in a pool of her own blood on her bed. He expressed surprise that the police had been unable to make any arrest as of the time he was speaking.

He also expressed surprise that no other tenant noticed anything in a building that had four flats.

He advised the police to track the deceased’s phone number to see if any suspicious activity could be discovered prior to her death.

The daughter of the deceased, Tejumade said she came back from the church and was trying her line, but it was switched off.

She said she later received a call from her mother’s brother to the effect that her mother had been k!lled.

The police said they had commenced investigation into the incident.
