A terrifying video has shown the moment thugs attacked a man in the back of a taxi before the stunned driver of the tax recovered from the shock and sped away with the bleeding passenger.
UK Metropolitan police said the incident took place inside a London cab on Spencer Road in Rainham at around 5 am on June 23.
From the footage recorded by the dashcam, there were three men inside the taxi who appeared to have just been delivered to their destination after 5 a.m.
They disembarked from the car and shut the door. The driver was backing out of the location when one of the passengers who had just disembarked opened the door and jumped in the back seat.
He was apparently chased into the cab by an assailant wearing a black hoodie and a red face mask, who smashed the rear window with a hammer to get to the passenger.
The passenger took out a knife to defend himself.
Suddenly a second attacker came from the other side of the car with a knife, forcing the passengers to frantically fight for his life on both sides.
At this point, the terrified driver started to speed away from the scene as the passenger began bleeding. “Drive fast, uncle,” the man pleaded with the driver, throwing a wad of cash at him and promising to pay for the damage to his vehicle.
