Young man dazed after st@bbing his mother to d3@th for cautioning him against smoking in Delta State

A young man has st@bbed his mother to death following a dispute over his penchant for smoking in Delta State.

A video of the incident shows the young man, said to be an addict, standing over his mother’s lifeless body with a dagger in his hand in Obiaruku, Delta State.

The deceased mother was said to have cautioned the man against smoking early in the morning. This infuriated him and he stabbed his mother.

As neighbours gathered, the suspect, still holding the dagger, is seen looking at his mother’s lifeless body in sh0ck as her blood pooled on the floor.

Neighbours, reluctant to enter the compound due to the we@pon in the suspect’s hand, urged the man named Samson to throw the dagger away so they could enter the compound and rush his mother to the hospital.

However, the suspect did not comply. He seemed to be in a daze and his body shook as he stood outside in just his briefs, looking at his de@d mother.

It was learnt that the elder brother of the suspect shouted to draw the attention of neighbours when he saw what his brother had done.

The neighbours, however, could not enter the compound as the gate was still locked, but they were peeping from the top of the fence and could see that Samson was holding a dagger.

They called on him to drop the weapon so they could enter, but he did not pay them any attention.

Eyewitnesses the suspect’s elder brother is a sickle cell warrior.

The Delta State Police Command PRO, SP Bright Edafe, said Samson has been arrested by the police.
