Presidential aides, Bayo Onanuga and O’tega Ogra have faulted activist Aisha Yesufu for claiming that President Tinubu was snubbed by South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa at his swearing-in ceremony on June 19.

A video of President Tinubu at the swearing-in ceremony made the rounds on social media.

Some Nigerians thought the President was snubbed by the South African President when he went around to greet guests at his swearing-in ceremony. They also ‘mocked’ President Tinubu for being seated in the second row at the ceremony.

Reacting to the trending video, Aisha who has never hidden her dislike for the current administration, wrote:

‘’My people say Pikin wey no hear word for house na for outside dem go disgrace am!

Tinubu Disgraced Once Again In South Africa

Everyone knows Nigeria does not have a President. We can fool ourselves all we want.

No Nigerian President that is President will be relegated to the second-row seat in an African context!

Nahhhhh!”

Presidential aides Bayo Onanuga and O’tega Ogra took to social media to express their disapproval.

Onanuga then shared a video of the President being properly greeted by the South African President.

Otega also explained that the front row was reserved for South African kings and royalties.

He also said the SA president was not expected to start greeting dignitaries at the time he was filmed and he was called back to his seat by the compere.

He further stated that the SA president went ahead to greet the visiting presidents who “were all seated in the second row (similar to the way visiting presidents were seated in the third row during Nigeria’s own inauguration on May 29, 2023- See pictures below).

He cautioned Aisha Yesufu to stop being negative about the president and Nigeria.
