UK-based woman begs for sponsorship as hubby plans to kick her off his visa to bring in new lady
A Nigerian woman based in the United Kingdom is soliciting assistance from compatriots to enable her to remain in the UK after she learnt that her husband is bringing in another wife.
The message was announced by a social media user on X, @theakinrinde, who appealed to fellow Nigerians in the UK to assist her.
She was married to her husband in Nigeria before he relocated to the UK. The wife joined him six months after he relocated to the UK.
The wife sensed trouble when the man announced that he wanted to visit Nigeria and he was not giving any convincing reason why that huge investment in travel was necessay.
The wife then decided to investigate what was happening and found out on his phone that he had been keeping a parallel relationship with a lady in Nigeria and was planning to marry her upon his visit to Nigeria.
She also discovered that the husband planned to kick her off his visa and bring in the new lady as his wife.
She reportedly contacted an immigration lawyer she had been in consultation with to seek advice on her options.
She was advised that the man was allowed to change his mind about who he keeps on his visa as a wife.
She is currently working as a caregiver but as a dependant and will require employment that can offer her sponsorship so she can stay in the UK.

This morning, a very dear friend who is a member of this community reached out to me.
She got married to her husband shortly before he came to the UK in 2022 and joined him 6 months after as his dependant.

Two weeks ago, due to suspicions that arose from some inconsistent details he shared about an imminent trip to Nigeria, she went through his phone and found something heartbreaking.
Her supposed husband is actively planning to return to Nigeria later this month to Mary a new bride. In fact, a date has been secured at the registry back home. In the chats she found, he has perfected plans to throw her off his visa and render her desolate.
She reached out to an immigration lawyer with whom she had a paid consultation. The lawyer told her even if she reported to the Home Office, there was nothing they could do as the husband brought her in on the grounds of marriage and can decide he does not want her anymore.
It is a serious dilemma she is in right now 😢.
As things stand, she desperately needs:
- Counsel on what to do to save herself and not lose her right to stay in the UK. She may not have more than 3 weeks at this rate as the guy already has everything well planned.
- Help with getting a COS that helps her stay on as a Skilled Worker. She already works as a Support Worker but as a dependant.
