Late pop star Michael Jackson’s son, Blanket, sues his grandmother, Katherine over singer’s estate
Jackson's mum, Katherine has received over $55 million since his death - Estate
King of Pop, Michael Jackson’s son, Blanket is locked in a battle with his grandmother, Michael’s mum, Katherine, over the granny’s intention to have the late pop’s estate pay her legal fees in the dispute she has with them.
Katherine wants the estate to pick up the tabs for legal fees related to the suit she has filed against the estate managers.
However, Blanket is arguing that his grandmother has collected enough from the estate to be able to handle her own legal representation.
The records the estate pushed out indicated that Katherine has gotten a significant amount of cash and other benefits since Michael’s death in 2009, according to TMZ.
A large portion of the money comes from her monthly allowance of over $160k.
They believe she can pay the cost of her attorney’s fees amid their legal battle.
A summation of the total money paid out to Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, is put at over $55M since her son’s death, according to his estate.
The late King of Pop’s estate has filed legal documents in their dispute with Katherine, 93, over the cost of her attorney’s fees, which she wants the estate to cover, according to a representative who spoke with TMZ.
The estate claims that Katherine has gotten a large amount of cash and other benefits since Michael’s death in 2009, alleging it totals over $55 million in nearly 15 years.
A significant portion of the money comes from a monthly allowance that’s over $160k, and amounts to $33 million of the $55 million, according to the estate.
It comes after Michael’s son, Blanket ‘Bigi’ Jackson, 22, filed legal papers seeking to block his grandmother from using estate funds amid an extended legal battle with the estate executors.
