The Crescent Moon has been sighted in Saudi Arabia signalling the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan in the Islamic lunar calendar 1445 on Monday, March 11, 2024.

The crescent moon was sighted on Sunday evening, March 10, in Sudair and Al-Hariq. The sighting of the moon on Sunday signals the kickoff of the Ramadhān period from midnight with taraweeh prayers after Isha’i prayer.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar during which Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, abstaining from food and drink.
