‘My salary for this month is N50k’ – Nigerian soldier says he can’t afford to travel home to see his family

A Nigerian soldier has taken to social media to lament his inability to travel home to see his family on account of steep transport fares.

The soldier said he had been in the bush for one year and had just been given leave to go see his family.

However, when he got to the park, he was told his fare was N35k to. He reasoned that at that rate, he needed N70k to go and return, while his entire salary for the month was N50,000.

The soldier announced that he had no choice other than to return to the bush.
