A heavy-duty truck loaded with sand crushed a radio presenter, Deborah Ohamara, inside her car along the ever-busy airport road, Lugbe, Abuja, the Federal Capital of Nigeria on Monday, January 15.
Ohamara, a staff of Naija Info FM, 95.1 Abuja, was driving from the airport axis when a vehicle hit her car from behind and she rammed into the moving truck.
One other person sustained mild injuries while the truck driver survived.
The incident occurred around 3 pm on Monday, January 15, 2024, near the popular Aso Estate Junction, Lugbe.
It caused heavy traffic gridlock, making commuters spend long hours on journeys that should have taken only minutes.
It was gathered that vehicles coming from both sides of the highway were stuck as a result of the blocked movement as personnel of both Federal Road Safety Corps, Police and FCTA’s traffic management department tried to evacuate the crashed vehicles from the scene.
The late Ohamara, popularly known as the golden voice of Naija Info, due to her on-air appeal, was born in Cross River State.
She started her career as a newscaster with the Cross River Broadcasting Corporation (CRBC TV) and later moved on to 105.5 Paradise FM Calabar as a presenter.
