Another victim of one-chance robbers in Abuja has narrated how she was kidnapped, assaulted and robbed by one-chance operators when she entered a cab in Abuja.

She explained that she was going from Kubwa to her sister’s house in Gwarimpa, Abuja, when she entered a vehicle that seemed safe.

In the car, there was the driver and a lady in front, then two men in the seat behind.

As she was getting close to her sister’s house, she called her on the phone to let her know where she was, but one of the men immediately started pressing her neck and hitting her.

She said she opened the window and started waving outside for help but no one came to her aid.

After about thirty minutes of assault, they forced her to the tight leg space on the floor of the car and demanded N1.5 million for her release.

She started calling the people she knows for money. Whenever anyone on the phone told her they didn’t have money, she said the men increased the beating.

They collected her ATM and once anyone sent money to her, they immediately withdrew it, she said.

They also asked her to log into her phone and when she did, they logged her out of her device.

Eventually, they told her they would let her go because her loved ones had donated N500,000.

She said they also collected her bag and the luggage containing her clothes and other personal items.

They later dropped her on a road she didn’t know and zoomed off.

As she didn’t know where she was, she resorted to begging for a ride, but no one would help her.

A Good Samaritan eventually gave her a ride and gave his phone to her to call her sister.

“Please be very vigilant, be very careful when you’re going out, especially in the night,” the survivor warned.

She added that the one-chance operators have no shame and no conscience and she is alive just by the grace of God.
