Motorist who killed two LAWMA sweepers in Lagos turns himself in
The hit-and-run driver who killed two road sweepers on the Gbagada-Oshodi Expressway of Lagos State on Monday, November 13 has surrendered himself to the Lagos State Police command.
The spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed his arrest to newsmen said the suspect will be arraigned in court.
The suspect who drove the vehicle with number plate EPE 984 DV turned himself in to the police on Monday evening, November 13.
“He turned himself in yesterday (Monday) and he will be arraigned for manslaughter possibly today (Tuesday)” Hundeyin said
The driver who was evading arrest by traffic officials killed two road sweepers on the Gbagada-Oshodi Expressway in Lagos State on Monday, November 12.
The LASTMA officials had attempted to apprehend the driver for committing a traffic offence but the driver chose to evade the arrest. While fleeing from the LASTMA officials, the driver rammed into two members of the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) at their duty post by the roadside, killing them on the spot.
