Traffic congestion has been reported in the Gbagaga axis of Lagos following a serious accident that caused loss of lives.

At least two women were reportedly k!lled by a driver who was allegedly being chased by officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

It was gathered that the unfortunate accident occurred this morning, Monday, November 13, along Gbagada Expressway in Lagos.

The deceased are said to be officials of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) who were sweeping the road.

It is however unclear why the LASTMA officials were chasing the driver.

Some residents of the area barricaded the road, making it impossible for motorists to pass for minutes before the road was later cleared by security officials.

The backlog of vehicles has caused a heavy congestion especially on the Lagos Island part of the expressway.
