Davido has said that he duly informed the organizers of the Warri Again show months ago that he would not be making it but they continued to promote the show using his name.

In a series of posts on social media, Davido attacked the former President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mr Pinnick. He said he wanted to donate double of the money paid to him to any football charity organization.

During the show which held last Friday, October 6, Mr Pinnick called out Davido for failing to perform at the show despite receiving full payment of an excess of $94,600.

While speaking at the show, Pinnick revealed that they booked a private jet for $18,000 for Davido to perform at the event in Warri, Delta State, but he didn’t show up. He went on to compare the singer to Burna Boy who he described as the biggest Nigerian superstar.

Pinnick said Davido should not feel he’s “big” as Delta State had also contributed to the entertainment sector in Nigeria.

He noted that Burna Boy is partly from Itsekiri in Delta State. He also pointed out that actor Richard Mofe-Damijo and comedian Alibaba are all from Delta State too.

“I’m not joking. So, while he was playing his games back and forth, we decided to hunt to find another artiste, Shallipopi.

“You see, when people say they are big, I’m amazed. Is Burna Boy not the biggest artiste in Nigeria today? Burna Boy is half Itsekiri. Burna Boy’s paternal grandmother is Itsekiri. So, he’s bigger than him (Davido).

“Is there anyone bigger than RMD in the acting industry? Or someone bigger than Ali Baba in the comedy industry?

“We have stars aplenty in Warri. Nobody is bigger than Warri,” he said.

In his first reaction, Davido posted on X on Saturday that nobody could stop him from performing anywhere in Nigeria, assuring his fans in Warri that he would be in their city soon.

“Nobody can stop me from performing anywhere in Nigeria… Warri I will see you soon,” he wrote.

He also posted a picture of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, logo with the caption; “Make I no talk.”

Davido returned to social media to speak more, claiming he told the organisers he could not make it, but that they continued to use his name to market their show.

The artiste added that if he was to return any money, he would send it to a football charity organization.
