The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL), Abbas Umar Masanawa is being held by the Department of State Services.
According to Daily Trust, Masanawa’s arrest is connected with the ongoing investigation of the embattled former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.
Masanawa was the Managing Director of the Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Company (NSPMC) popularly known as ‘The MINT’ before he was appointed to succeed Abdulhammeed.
A security source said the ally of the suspended CBN Governor was picked up in his Abuja residence after being fingered in the probe of Emefiele.
