The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, on Wednesday afternoon, sacked 20 out of his 28 commissioners.
The eight commissioners not affected by the announcement were of the ministries of Health, Youth and Sports, Tourism, Information and Strategy, Woman Affairs, Works, Finance and Technology.
The governor had recently alleged that some of his appointees were moles sabotaging his administration.
Uzodinma had also about a month ago reshuffled his cabinet and appointed new Commissioners for Finance and Health.
The governor sprang a surprise on his cabinet as there has not been any issue of late that could have warranted the decision.
The state Commissioner for information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, confirmed the development.
