A new set of principal officers have emerged in the upper chamber of the National Assembly.
The senate president, Godswill Akpabio, announced that the leaders, who are all of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), emerged through consensus.
He made the announcement on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, when the senate resumed plenary after a three-week vacation.
The positions announced by Akpabio are as follows: Opeyemi Bamidele Senate Majority Leader, David Umahi Deputy Majority Leader, and Mohammed Ali Ndume, Senate Majority Whip.
