Nigerians react to video of officials allegedly ‘pushing Blue Line coach in Marina, Lagos, after it refused to work
LAMATA says it's work of mischief-makers
A video showing officials using their hands to ‘push a train’ on the recently commissioned Blue Line Rail in Marina, Lagos, has gone viral.
This comes just a week after select citizens were invited for a test ride on the Blue Line Rail.
After the video went viral, Twitter users took to the platform to react.
Others questioned how possible it is for 5 people to push a train and said there was probably an explanation for what was going on in the video.
The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has dismissed the video as the work of mischiefmakers.
LAMATA said it was an old video of some of the staff of the contractors handling the project joking around.
LAMATA in a statement said:
“BE WARY OF ATTEMPT TO DISCREDIT LAGOS BLUE LINE RAIL The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) is in receipt of an obviously doctored video clip showing 4 people purportedly pushing one of the train sets to be deployed for passenger operations for the Blue Line”
