Nigerian bags first class degree from UK university 10 years after graduating with thirdclass from OAU

A Nigerian has taken to social media to celebrate bagging a first-class degree from a United Kingdom University, 10 years after bagging a third-class degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.

Tweeting with @ikemofepo, he wrote:

“Yesterday, 10 years after finishing with the third class from OAU, I graduated from @UniofHerts  with a first class in Computer Science.

What did they say about what God cannot do again?”

Congratulatory messages have been pouring in for him under the thread since he made the post.

Some have also taken the opportunity to pass snide remarks on Nigerian institutions and lecturers for allegedly taking pleasure in frustrating students despite lacking the necessary infrastructures obtainable in similar institutions abroad.

@nonsookongwu1: “Congratulations my guy……

Abroad provides a very viable environment to study well and come out with good grades.

Here in Nigeria, if it’s not the lecturers, it’s poor infrastructure or just regular old shege happening to you.”

@Tunbolity: “Congratulations! Nigerian education system rarely works to get the best out of students”

@momolesho: “Lol many thirdly from my faculty went to unilag to graduate with almost perfect CGPA in their MSc Some schools make everything difficult, the environment and circumstance contribute more shege”.
