A pastor known as Rev. Emeka Evans of Goodnews City Church, Abuja has been murdered by unknown assailants.
He was said to have been shot dead while praying inside his church overnight on Tuesday.
However, the incident was not discovered until morning when someone who arrived church early found his near lifeless body.
He was rushed to the hospital, but never quite made it there before giving up the ghost.
Pastor Evans was said to be very popular in the Nyanya Jikwoyi axis of Abuja. It has remained a puzzle why anyone would want him dead.
The matter has been reported to the police but no clue yet.
Tributes have poured in for him on social media from family, friends and church members.
