Oyindamola, the brother of the late Bimbo Ogbona who was burnt in a tragic domestic violence episode has narrated how the situation played out on the sad day.
According to him, the late Bimbo had taken the documents for the house the couple were sharing in Lekki, Lagos, preparatory to walking out of the marriage.
Her reasoning was that since she had not gained anything from the union, that would be her entitlement and something to use to train their five children.
He said Bimbo brought home a welder to cut the safe where the documents were hidden by IVD and she had successfully removed the documents when IVD drove into the compound and realised what had happened.
The husband reportedly was able to get the documents back and Bimbo resolved to burn the house down so that the two of them would leave the marriage empty-handed.
Oyinda, who relied on the information gathered from a girl who lived with the couple, said Bimbo doused the curtails with kerosene and also doused herself with the substance.
She reportedly lit up the curtains. While the curtains were burning, Bimbo reportedly got into a tussle with IVD who allegedly pushed her away and she landed on one of the burning curtains and caught fire.
Oyinda alleged that IVD did nothing to douse the fire until she sustained 100 per cent burns.
