Shocking surveillance video has shown the horrifying moment a lady shot her cheating boyfriend in anger at their apartment building in Brazil on Thursday.
The victim was lucky that the gun jammed after the first shot as the lady made multiple attempts to finish him off as he lay bleeding on the floor.
Diana da Silva, 36, took to her heels and is currently wanted by the police after seriously wounding her 46-year-old boyfriend, whose name has not been released, in Sao Paulo.
The incident happened on Thursday, October 6, 2022 around 9:49 am.
In the surveillance footage, the man presses the lift button and waits when da Silva storms into the lobby from the man’s apartment and shoots him in the back. The impact of the shot sends him crashing backwards into a glass table and then onto the floor.
In the video, da Silva can be seen taunting her boyfriend repeatedly as he lies bloodied on the floor and begs her not to shoot him again.
The woman then steps back and presses the trigger, but the gun fails to respond after it has apparently jammed. She tries to correct it by fiddling with the safety features and corking it. It still fails to work.
The wounded man then attempts to get up from the blood-soaked floor as his girlfriend walks back into the apartment.
She then grabs a knife from the couch and screams at her boyfriend while he is lying on the ground.
Da Silva again then rushes into the apartment and comes back with the gun which still fails to work.
The man was taken to Santa Marcelina Hospital. He was transferred to São Cristóvão hospital and was in stable condition as of Friday.
Civil Police investigators learned from a witness at the hospital that the man said his girlfriend flew into a jealous rage because she had discovered that he had been with another woman, according to Brazilian news outlet G1.
A neighbour told UOL Noticias that the couple were constantly arguing and cursing at each other.
‘They had no limits. It could be daytime, it could be dawn,’ the resident said. ‘Nobody had much contact with them because of that.’
Authorities searched the apartment, which is owned by the boyfriend, and recovered the knife and the gun. The firearm was not registered to him or his girlfriend.
