Gun men on Wednesday stormed the country home of a former minister of Sports, Damishi Sango, in Danwal village, Ganawuri chiefdom, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State and shot two guards.
News report indicated that the guards resisted the intruders and were shot in the process.
The former minister who was said to be home at the time was not hurt.
Residents recounted how the vicinity erupted in gun fire around 9pm.
They recalled that they were too afraid to come out of their residences to investigate what was happening and only learnt about what transpired the following day.
Plateau State Police Command spokesman, Ubah Ogaba, confirmed the incident.
