Dramatic moment Abuja taskforce man hanging to moving lorry to arrest driver fell after being hit with machete (Video)
A video clip has shown the moment a taskforce man trying to arrest a lorry driver was attacked with a machete by the motor boys inside the lorry.
The clip was recorded in Abuja by someone driving behind the lorry the taskforce man was trying to impound.
The offence of the trailer driver is not clear, but the T-shirt worn by the official had the inscription: ‘Daily Ticket’ on the back, which suggests that the official might have been trying to collect money for a ticket from the driver.
The motor boys can be seen initially punching the taskforce man in an attempt to get him to jump down, but he continued to hang on to the moving trailer.
A hand wielding a machete soon emerged from inside the trailer, at which point the official was alarmed. He was hit a few times with the flat side of the blade prompting him to cry in pain, while the driver continued to speed along.
When the official was hit a few more times, he stretched out one of his legs to jump but appeared to let go of his hands because the trailer had gathered speed.
Eventually, the official opted for the lesser evil of jumping and falling flat on his face on the road as against being wounded with the machete.
