Kogi state governor storms out of APC governors meeting after he was allegedly asked to step down for Southern candidate (video)
Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, storms out of APC governor’s meeting after he was allegedly asked to step down for a Southern candidate.
The APC governors had earlier rejected Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, as the party’s consensus candidate.
At their meeting on Monday night, they allegedly requested to step down for a southern candidate.
Sources say this infuriated Yahaya who is aspiring to be the party’s presidential flagbearer in the 2023 presidential election, and he stormed out of the meeting.
It is also being reported that he was angry about the decision of the party to make Senate president, Ahmad Lawan, its consensus candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
The party is expected to pick a presidential candidate during its special convention that started today and would end on Wednesday, June 8th.
The video of him storming out is all over social media.
