Unknown gunmen burn down Idemili North Local Government secretariat, magistrate court

Unknown gunmen have burnt down the Idemili North Local Government secretariat in Ogidi, Anambra State. The arsonists also torched a nearby Magistrate Court.

The gunmen attacked the government institutions about 2 am today, May 16. The assailants burnt all files, and properties in the secretariat, including the secretariat building and cars.

The state police command, Tochukwu Ikenga, said no life was lost in the incident.

“This incident happened at about 2 am this morning. We were able to contain the situation. The Secretariat’s official vehicles were burnt and some other buildings in the secretariat which includes the EEDC and magistrate building were burnt. No life was lost” he said.
