The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Atanda Olayiwola Adeyemi, has joined his ancestors.
The monarch died at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, late Friday.
It was gathered that his remains were brought to Oyo in the early hours of Saturday (today).
Alaafin Oba Lamidi Adeyemi was 83 before he joined his ancestors. He reigned for 52 years, which made him the longest-serving monarch in Oyo State.
The governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde is expected to make an official statement on the passage of the monarch.
