‘We are now homeless’, residents cry as govt demolishes multimillion naira buildings in Lagos (Video)

The Lagos State government has demolished many houses, including multi-million naira mansions at Okokomaiko area of the state.

In a video circulating online, the residents claimed they were not informed of the demolition and were only allowed to move out a few of their properties.

The video shows household equipment such as Television sets, refrigerators, washing machines and the rest piled up in batches on the street as earth moving equipment can be seen demolishing the buildings.

One of the residents, Angel Oguguamobi, took to Instagram to post the following:

“Please come to our rescue ooooo government on it again making people, our children, our fathers, our mothers and sis and bro homeless 😭😭😭😭😭😓😓😥😢😢.. please dis happening right now. We’re homeless our little kids are homeless 😭😭😭 where do we start from… Please sir governor Sanwolu, Lagos State government we need your intervention.. the one wey pain me pass na d old papa wey manage finish e hous last two now is on stroke and liveless 😭😭😭😢😢😥😥😓😓😭😭😭.. please help share all over I can’t tag people (my hands are) shaking typing already.. they didn’t give us tenants notice 😭😭😭..
