Contestant shades judges’ grasp of English on TV

A contestant’s session with a panel of judges comprising iconic actor, Richard Mofe-Damijo, legendary singer, 2Face Idibia and veteran comedian, Okey Bakassi, is currently trending on social media for a funny reason.

A contestant on the show called Nija Hood Rep, shaded the judge’s understanding of English during her audition.

The contestant, who apparently has a short fuse was trying to introduce herself and what she does but could not immediately penetrate the understanding of the judges.

She said she was a ski instructor, which apparently took the judges aback, for the obvious reason that Nigeria does not have the weather for that sort of sport.

She repeated herself: “I’m a ski instructor!” She went ahead to spell it out.

Okey Bakassi asked: “Does Nigeria have a weather for that?”, while RMD demonstrated with his hands to suggest skiing,” while saying inquisitively? “Ski instructor?”

The contestant exasperatedly shouted ‘Ski instructor’ a couple of more times and asked the judges if she should speak Yoruba to them.

Social media people cannot have enough of the clip for the sheer nerve of the contestant shading those who were to judge her.

The show, promises the winner N20 million cash prize and a car, while the first runner-up will get N10 million, and the second runner-up will get N5m.

Nija Hood Rep is billed to start airing later this month.
