Scores kidnapped by bandits in different operations in Niger State

Scores of travellers and residents were feared abducted by armed bandits in various operations across Niger State between Monday and Tuesday.

MSN gathered that one incident happened along the Tegina-Minna road in Rafi Local Government of Niger State on Tuesday when three commercial vehicles conveying nine passengers including the drivers ran into a road block mounted by bandits at Kundu.

The passengers in the three cars were kidnapped and conveyed to an unknown location and the vehicles were left by the road side.

Also, armed bandits attacked Gidigoro town in Rafi council and abducted some villagers, burnt five cars and went away with valuables.

Bandit activities were also recorded in Manta town in Shiroro Local Government, where one person was killed and many others kidnapped on Monday evening.

The bandits reportedly entered homes to steal food stuff and other valuables.

Efforts to get the reaction of the state Police Command were yet to yield positive results at the time of filing this report.
