A young man has caused a stir in a local market after he brought a G-Wagon to hawk plantain in the busy market in Owerri, Imo State.
The video clip of the man, shared on Facebook shows him clanging a bell to attract attention, while shouting ‘plantain, plantain’, carrying bunches of the produce to show off to passers by..
The boot of the car shows bunches of green plantain, apparently freshly harvested.
Many onlookers watched from a distance not sure what the young man was up to. However, some people, including elderly women can be seen patronizing the young man.
Reactions online have been mixed. Some opined that he probably had a farm and decided to directly sell part of his produce before they went bad.
Some others suggested he might be doing that just for publicity or online clout, while yet others suggested he might be a Yahoo boy asked by his fetish priest to hawk plantain as part of a ritual for more money.
