Tragedy struck in the Ojodu area of Lagos when a trailer allegedly running from Lagos Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) officials, rammed into a sea of students going home on Tuesday afternoon.
An unspecified number of students, mainly of the Ojodu Grammar School, were killed in the incident, even though reports indicated that students of neighbouring schools were also affected.
Angry mates of the victims took to the streets smashing any vehicle in sight.
Policemen were drafted in to quell the riots.
The driver of the trailer reportedly attempted to get away but was chased and cornered at Excellence Hotel part of Ogba where he was apprehended and his truck set ablaze.
