4,000 herders evicted from Southern Nigeria now in Kaduna –Miyetti Allah

More Fulani herders fleeing from Southern Nigeria have converged on Labduga in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

This was disclosed by the Kaduna State chapter of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria.

The herders which have now numbered up to 4000, according to MACBAN, are mostly from Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Ebonyi and Abia states.

The Director of Publicity of MACBAN in the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Bayero said some of the herders were squatting with their relations while others were staying in open fields,

He said the herders faced food shortage, scarcity of drugs, clothing and mattresses and other essential materials.

Recall that the Secretary of MACBAN in Kano State, Zubairu Ibrahim, had a few days ago said that some of the  herdsmen fleeing from South West, South East and other parts of the country had started arriving in Kano RUGA settlement. Read the report here
