Man steals Toyota Tundra from VGC dealership (Video)
Mows down many during escape bid

A dramatic high-speed chase unfolded in the Victoria Garden City (VGC) area of Ajah, Lagos, after a well-dressed man posing as a prospective car buyer stole a Toyota Tundra pickup truck during an alleged test drive.
Fake buyer central-locks truck and crashes through VGC security gate
According to eyewitness accounts and viral video reports, the suspect walked into a local car dealership located around the VGC axis claiming he wanted to inspect and purchase a Toyota Tundra.
When handed the keys to inspect or test run the vehicle, the suspect immediately activated the truck’s central locking mechanism from inside to prevent dealership staff from entering. He then stepped on the accelerator and sped off towards the residential estate gates.
Attempting to exit the gated community without an authorized visitor access code, the suspect rammed the heavy truck into the security barrier. The impact destroyed the security gate equipment and struck an estate security officer on duty.
Chaotic escape leads to multiple collisions and mob arrest
After forcing his way past the VGC security checkpoint, the suspect sped toward the Jakande and Ajiran axes along the Lekki-Epe expressway.
During his frantic attempt to evade pursuing security personnel and dealership representatives, the driver rammed into multiple civilian vehicles, hitting pedestrians and causing extensive traffic damage along the route.
The chaotic pursuit ended in Ajiran, near the Ajah/Lekki axis, where the stolen truck was eventually cornered and forced into a ditch.
The man got off the vehicle and attempted to flee through the swamp. Local residents, motorists, and security personnel went into the water with him and brought him out.
He was later handed over to law enforcement officers.
